BREAKING THE NEWS : Analysis
Adopting the templates of mainstream press media on social media, “Franc” presents the news with a manipulated photo that accompanies the headlines to create radical socio-political comments. This project started online on Instagram @franc.archive , one of the challenges was to trick the Instagram algorithm using the techniques of the mainstream media avoiding censorship, and making some videos gain a lot of attention online. Rooted in a background of street art, this project follows those principles. In the final exhibition, more than 100 designs are displayed in an unusual setup where multiple screens are attached to a scaffolding ladders.
